Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about growing and caring for your David Austin roses.

When is the best time to plant bare root roses?

Bare root roses should be planted while they are dormant, typically between late autumn and early spring, provided the ground is not frozen or waterlogged.

How do I care for my roses during the first year?

Ensure your roses are watered regularly, especially during dry spells, and apply a specialized rose fertilizer in early spring and again in early summer to encourage healthy growth.

What is your guarantee on rose health?

We offer a five-year guarantee on all our roses. If a rose fails to grow or dies within five years of purchase, we will offer a replacement or a full refund.

How are the roses packaged for shipping?

Our roses are carefully pruned and secured in moisture-retaining packaging to ensure they arrive in peak condition, whether they are delivered as bare roots or in pots.

Can I grow David Austin roses in pots or containers?

Yes, many of our varieties are perfectly suited for large containers. We recommend choosing a pot at least 18 inches deep and using a high-quality loam-based compost.

When will my order be delivered?

Potted roses are shipped year-round within 3-5 business days, while bare root orders are reserved and dispatched during the dormant season from November through April.
